This Privacy Policy explains how Caveman Web handles information when you use the browser extension. Caveman Web is designed to help users ask supported AI chat websites to respond in a shorter, more concise style.

The extension is intentionally local-first and privacy-focused. Its functionality is limited to supported AI chat websites and local browser extension settings.

2. Single Purpose

The single purpose of Caveman Web is to let users enable a local “Caveman mode” instruction on supported AI chat websites. When enabled, the extension adds a short instruction to the user’s prompt asking the AI to reply more concisely, with less filler, while preserving technical accuracy.

3. Supported Websites

Caveman Web is designed to work only on selected AI chat websites, such as:

ChatGPT
Claude
Gemini
DeepSeek

The extension does not request permission to run on all websites.

4. Data Handled by the Extension

To perform its single purpose, Caveman Web may temporarily interact with the text input area of supported AI chat websites. This allows the extension to add the selected Caveman instruction before the user sends a message.

The extension may also process local user actions, such as:

turning Caveman mode on or off;
selecting a response mode;
enabling or disabling supported websites;
using the send action on a supported AI chat website;
opening or interacting with the extension popup.

Caveman Web does not read your full chat history, does not monitor unrelated browsing activity, and does not send website content to any external server.

5. Data Stored Locally

Caveman Web stores extension settings locally on your device using browser extension storage. These settings may include:

whether Caveman mode is enabled;
the selected response mode;
per-site enable or disable settings;
display preferences;
local estimated usage statistics.

Caveman Web does not store your chat messages or AI responses.

6. Chat Messages and AI Responses

Caveman Web may temporarily access the current text you are typing into a supported AI chat website only so it can add the selected Caveman instruction before submission.

The extension does not save your prompts, does not save AI responses, and does not create a database of your conversations.

7. Usage Statistics

Caveman Web may keep simple local-only estimated usage statistics, such as the number of prompts enhanced or approximate token estimates. These statistics are stored locally on your device and are used only to display information to you inside the extension.

These statistics do not include the actual text of your prompts or AI responses.

8. Data Sharing

Caveman Web does not sell, rent, transfer, or share user data with third parties.

Caveman Web does not transfer user data to advertising networks, analytics providers, data brokers, or external AI services.

9. Remote Servers

Caveman Web does not send your chat content, prompts, responses, settings, usage statistics, or browsing activity to any external server.

The extension does not require an account, cloud sync service, backend API, or external database to operate.

10. Tracking and Analytics

Caveman Web does not use analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, tracking pixels, cookies, fingerprinting, or behavioral tracking.

11. Remote Code

Caveman Web does not load or execute remotely hosted code. All JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and extension logic are bundled inside the submitted browser extension package.

The extension does not use remote scripts, external JavaScript CDNs, remotely hosted Wasm, or dynamic remote code execution.

12. Permissions

Caveman Web requests only the permissions needed for its single purpose.

Storage: used to save local extension settings and local estimated usage statistics.
Host permissions for supported AI chat websites: used so the extension can run on those specific websites and add the selected Caveman instruction to the prompt input area.

Caveman Web does not request permission to run on every website.

13. Children’s Privacy

Caveman Web is not designed to collect information from children. The extension does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
